The United Methodist Men's meeting
started at 9:00 am with a hot breakfast of scrambled
eggs, sausages, biscuits, donuts, fruit, and coffee.
The breakfast, as always was excellent. Gene
Hudson invited Jim Wroughton, from Wycliffe Bible
Translators, to speak to us about his work.
Jim was a very
relaxed, informal, friendly, and interesting speaker.
He described his adventures in Peru as he sought to
learn the languages and to work with the people who had
no translation of the Bible in their native tongue.
Jim's story was full of exciting adventures, danger, and
the workings of the Lord as he performed his life's
work.
Jim brought colorful
and beautiful textiles that were created by the people
he lived with and translated for. Pictures from
the meeting are provided below.
