The Wheatland United Methodist men met
on Saturday May 13, 2006 at Fellowship hall. Our
guest speaker was
Jeff Crilley from
KDFW Fox Four News. Jeff was an excellent
guest and very interesting speaker. He walked in
to Fellowship hall right on time, got some breakfast,
sat down and asked a few questions. Before we knew
it we were in the middle of his presentation on how to
get free publicity.
His presentation was very interesting
and those attending had numerous questions. In
addition to being an excellent and knowledgeable
presenter, Jeff was a great listener too. He would
ask questions and take the answers we provided then turn
right around and formulate ideas for how we can gain
publicity for Wheatland United Methodist Church.
Jeff quickly realized how special pastor Kay is to
Wheatland. In fact, he referred to her as "Special
K" - leaving many of us wondering how we could have gone
so long without it dawning on us that she is "Special
K".
Jeff was genuinely interested in
Wheatland and the welfare of our Church. That may
be due to the fact that his father was a minister in
Chicago while Jeff was growing up. Those attending
his presentation took Jeff over to the sanctuary and
provided a group tour of the church. Normally a
group tour consists of one host and a group taking the
tour. This time the host was the group and Jeff
was the one (and only one) person taking the tour.
Jeff provided a free signed copy of
his book to pastor Kay and Joyce Merz At no time
did he try to sell the book but a few of us did not want
to be outdone and requested our own copies of his book.
At only $10 each they were a bargain and he also signed
each one. Pictures from Jeff's
visit are provided below: |
